The Tudor Heritage Chronograph

As soon as I saw the pictures of this one at the Basel show in 2010, I knew I had to have one! I never really gave much thought to Tudor as a brand, but I have to say, they really hit it out of the park with this re-issue.

The 42mm case size is perfect, and the fit and finish on the case and bracelet are on par with any of the Rolex releases of recent years.

For the price, this watch is one of the best values out there under $5,000 in my opinion!

Panerai 26K Luminor Destro PVD & Dirk 2nd Generation Strap

I just snapped these pics on Sunday of this combo. It’s one of my favorites right now for my Panerai 26k Luminor Destro PVD. Technically this strap isn’t a Dirk…since as I understand it, the 2nd generation “Dirk” straps were not made by Dirk. Instead the buckles were sewn into the straps by someone else. I am not well versed in the history of all this so I won’t try to pretend that I am, but either way, this is a great looking strap. I was really pleased to be able to find one in unworn condition.

Alright…I realize I have been completely lazy and not posted in FOREVER, so I figured no time like the present to turn that around!

This strap by Justin Chen is one of my favorites to wear with my PAM 233. He makes his vintage straps a bit on the thin side which makes them extremely comfortable to wear.

Check out the texture and dimension on this vintage leather. You just can’t duplicate that with new stuff.

The Panerai 127 Luminor 1950

I honestly never thought this day would come, but I finally managed to land my grail of grails. The Panerai 127 Luminor 1950. This has been my grail piece since about 2 months after I discovered Panerai and now I fully understand what all the fuss is about!

I paired this up with a dark chocolate Rob Montana strap, and the gold stitching is almost a dead ringer for the gold hands.

The old school font that “Luminor Panerai” is written in is AWESOME.

I had a tough time capturing the gold hands, but I think this one best shows them off.

The PAM 26 PVD Destro on Altamarea Gray Nubuck Gator

I just received this in the mail on Friday and love the way it looks on a PVD piece. The first photo is most indicative of the color, but it can look bluish in some lights, as it does in the second photo. Enjoy!

The IWC Top Gun Double Chronograph 3799-01

Lately I’ve been primarily collecting Panerai, but I decided to venture out and try another brand to spice things up. I used to have the 44mm IWC Top Gun chronograph 3789-01, but only for a brief period of time. For some reason the 44mm version just didn’t quite have the wrist presence that I wanted.

As you can see, this version with the thicker, and 2mm wider case has no issues in the wrist presence department.

The OEM kevlar strap is great, but like any Paneristi worth his ammo leather, I’m already looking for other strap options. I’m thinking that an OEM black gator Big Pilot strap would look mean on this one. Stay tuned for more photos!

The Panerai 26 PVD Destro & 232 Radiomir 1938

I just got a couple new straps last week, and decided to shoot some photos of them on my two most recent pickups. Enjoy!

The strap on the 232 is a Kaktus vintage leather, and the strap on the Panerai 26 is a Kevin ammo strap.

The Kaktus strap is a great combo with the vintage look of the PAM 232. I love how the stitchless straps look with the 232.

This might be my favorite strap to pair with the Panerai 243 submersible. Something about the stitchless strap, with the oversized buckle just seems to compliment the submersible.

I’m a huge fan of the large buckle.

The Panerai 285 Luminor Submersible 2500m

This was my first special edition Panerai, and it came to me straight from the Florence Panerai boutique. This watch is not for the faint of heart!

The applied markers on the bezel make this watch really stand out on the wrist.

Now that the Panerai PAM243 is using luminova on the dial, this is one of the last Panerai watches to have a tritium dial.

One of my favorite things about the PAM285 is the contrast of the stainless bezel and stainless helium valve against the dark titanium case.

The skeleton hands aren’t bad either!

The PAM285 is one of the few 1950 case Panerai watches that does not have “REG. T.M.” engraved on the crown guard.

I’ve since moved this piece along to a friend that has larger wrists than myself…it was just too big for my 6.75″ wrists. If you are looking for a beastly submersible, this is your watch!
