Greg Stevens Designs 22mm Pre-V Style Buckle

Today I’m going to review a 22mm buckle that I just received from Greg at Greg Stevens design. I bought this buckle because I have multiple OEM Panerai straps for my Panerai 212 flyback chronograph, and I didn’t want to deal with changing the OEM Panerai buckle every time I change my strap, and I also didn’t want to shell out hundreds of dollars to have multiple OEM Panerai buckles.

I know it’s not quite as exciting as a watch review, but if you consider the fact that even pre-owned OEM Panerai buckles sell for at least $150, and the fact that these buckes are available for $30, that should get you at least a little bit excited!

As far as aftermarket buckles go, I would say that these are just about as good as it gets. The brushed finish looks great, the machining of the buckle is crisp, and exudes quality.

When compared side by side with an OEM Panerai buckle, you can see that the shape of the buckle is just about spot on.

The polished side surfaces of the buckle add just a little bit of shine to the package.

These buckles are offered in 22mm, 24mm, 26mm, and in polished stainless steel, brushed stainless steel, PVD black, and titanium. For more information on these buckles, as well as information on Greg’s fantastic straps, check out Greg’s blog at http://gregstraps.blogspot.com/

The Wolf Designs 10 pc. Leather Watch Box with Drawer

Posted by justhideandwatch | Accessories, Wolf Designs | Thursday 21 August 2008 4:00 pm

It took me about 4 months of watch collecting to outgrow the three slots in my first watch box, and once I realized that my collection was only going to grow in numbers, I decided that I needed a serious watch storage solution. I knew that I wanted a watch box that was befitting of the watches it would be holding, and after doing some research I decided on this model from Wolf Designs.

Wolf Designs has a wide range of watch boxes to fit all size and number of watches, and they can be seen at www.wolfdesigns.com. As you can see, this box has plenty of room for large diameter watches, as most of the watches in this shot are 42mm all the way up to 47mm in diameter.

The lid has a clear top so that you can see all your timepieces while they are safely stored.

The box also has a drawer to hold all of your watch accessories, rings, cufflinks, and watch tools. My only complaint is that there are no compartments in the drawer large enough to store watch straps.

All in all this is a great watch box, and has room to hold my entire watch collection. Sometimes I wish it had more room than 10 watches, but that’s probably a good thing in my case!
