The JR Ammo Strap with Olive Stitching

JR’s straps were recommended to me by another Paneristi who has great taste in straps.  I’d seen his posts before, but because of the low prices I figured that these straps weren’t great quality.  Boy was I wrong!

I’ve got this strap paired up with a Strap Culture buckle which is a nice match for the ammo leather. The ammo style keeper looks great on this strap.

I really like the holes left behind from where this leather used to be stitched. It’s a nice detail that gives the strap its vintage character.

I purchased this strap with the intention of using it with my PAM 233 1950 GMT, but it was still away being serviced, so here it is on my PAM 243 Submersible.

The leather is a little bit on the rigid side, but that’s to be expected from vintage leather. I have a feeling that with some wear and oiling, this will soften right up.

As far as vintage ammo straps go, there are nicer ones out there…but they’ll cost you at least twice as much. These straps are great looking at a great price!
